Summary
Plan pricing at a glance
DAVE has four pricing tiers. Every tier is a flat monthly fee. There are no per-run charges, no storage quotas, and no markup on AI usage.
| Plan | Monthly price | Seats included | Price per included seat | Free trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $20 / month | 1 | $20.00 | 30 days, up to 5 seats |
| Team | $50 / month | 5 | $10.00 | 30 days, up to 5 seats |
| Business | $250 / month | 25 | $10.00 | 30 days, up to 5 seats |
| Business+ | $250 + $10 per seat above 25 | 25 + overage | $10.00 per overage seat | 30 days, up to 5 seats |
The overage rate is flat: every seat beyond 25 costs $10 per month, with no volume discount and no step-up tier. A 30-seat team pays $250 + (5 x $10) = $300 per month. A 50-seat team pays $250 + (25 x $10) = $500 per month.
What is included on every plan:
- All workflow node types: Start, End, User Interaction, Human Review, Agent Interaction, Agent Review, Routing, API Call, Information, and Safety.
- All seven AI provider types: OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Google, OpenAI-compatible, local (Ollama), and custom. You bring your own keys.
- Six default roles and 20 permission types, enforced at the API and frontend level.
- MCP integration: 34 tools across four capability presets, for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, VS Code, and JetBrains.
- Per-tenant encrypted credential vault (AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption).
- Full audit logging, SOC 2 and GDPR compliance modes.
- 18-step CIS/NIST-aligned server hardening, applied as part of managed hosting.
- 305 REST API endpoints.
There are no instance caps and no storage quotas on any plan.
Cost lookup by team size
Find your team size in the table below to see the recommended plan and monthly cost. The recommended plan is the one that covers your seat count at the lowest total monthly cost.
| Team size (seats) | Recommended plan | Monthly cost | Effective cost per seat |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Starter | $20 | $20.00 |
| 2 | Team | $50 | $25.00 |
| 3 | Team | $50 | $16.67 |
| 4 | Team | $50 | $12.50 |
| 5 | Team | $50 | $10.00 |
| 6 | Business | $250 | $41.67 |
| 10 | Business | $250 | $25.00 |
| 15 | Business | $250 | $16.67 |
| 20 | Business | $250 | $12.50 |
| 25 | Business | $250 | $10.00 |
| 30 | Business+ | $300 | $10.00 |
| 40 | Business+ | $400 | $10.00 |
| 50 | Business+ | $500 | $10.00 |
| 75 | Business+ | $750 | $10.00 |
| 100 | Business+ | $1,000 | $10.00 |
Note on the 6-seat jump. Moving from 5 seats (Team at $50) to 6 seats (Business at $250) is a $200 step up. The Business plan only becomes cost-equivalent to five Team seats at 25 seats ($10 per seat each). If your team is between 6 and 24 seats, Business is the only plan that covers you, and the effective per-seat cost decreases steadily as you add seats up to 25. At 25 seats, Business and Business+ converge at $10 per seat per month.
Formula for teams above 25 seats: Monthly cost = $250 + ((seats - 25) x $10).
Worked examples for common team configurations
These examples show how to calculate cost for real-world team configurations, including mixed-role teams where not every team member needs a DAVE seat.
Example 1: Solo founder or freelancer (1 seat)
Plan: Starter. Monthly cost: $20. One seat covers one Admin user who builds workflows, configures agents, and runs instances. No additional seats needed unless a second person joins the workspace.
Example 2: Small content team (4 seats)
Plan: Team. Monthly cost: $50. Configuration: 1 Admin (sets up workflows and agents), 1 Curate user (edits workflow definitions), 2 Use users (run instances and complete tasks). All four seats are covered by the Team plan. Effective cost: $12.50 per seat per month.
Example 3: Mid-size operations team (12 seats)
Plan: Business. Monthly cost: $250. Configuration: 2 Admins, 2 Create users (build agents), 3 Curate users (build workflows), 4 Use users (run instances and complete tasks), 1 Reporting user (views analytics). All 12 seats are covered by the Business plan. Effective cost: $20.83 per seat per month. Note: the Business plan covers up to 25 seats, so this team has 13 seats of headroom before hitting the overage rate.
Example 4: Large team with overage (35 seats)
Plan: Business+. Monthly cost: $250 + (10 x $10) = $350. The Business plan covers the first 25 seats. The remaining 10 seats are billed at $10 each. Effective cost: $10.00 per seat per month (the overage rate equals the Business plan's per-seat rate at full capacity).
Example 5: Not every team member needs a seat
DAVE seats are for users who log in to the platform. If your team includes people who only consume the outputs of AI workflows (for example, a client who reads a finished document) but never log in to DAVE, they do not need a seat. Count only the people who will have DAVE accounts when sizing your plan.
The free trial and how to choose your starting plan
Every DAVE plan includes a 30-day free trial for up to five seats. The trial gives you full platform access: all workflow node types, all AI provider integrations, all six default roles, MCP integration, audit logging, and compliance modes. There are no feature restrictions during the trial. You do not need a credit card to start.
The trial covers up to five seats, which means it maps directly to the Team plan. If your team is larger than five people, you can still trial with a five-seat subset (for example, one Admin and four representative users) and then expand to the Business plan after the trial period.
Choosing your starting plan:
- Start on Starter if you are a solo user or evaluating DAVE before bringing in your team. At $20 per month, it is the lowest-cost way to run a production workspace after the trial.
- Start on Team if your core team is two to five people. At $50 per month, it covers up to five seats and is the most cost-efficient plan for small teams.
- Start on Business if your team is six or more people, or if you expect to scale to 25 seats within the next six months. The Business plan's $10 per-seat rate (at full capacity) is the same as the overage rate, so there is no penalty for growing into it.
- Start on Business+ if your team is already above 25 seats. The formula is $250 + ((seats - 25) x $10).
Because there are no instance caps and no storage quotas, you do not need to forecast usage volume when choosing a plan. The only variable is seat count.
Frequently asked questions about DAVE pricing
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan includes a 30-day free trial for up to five seats. No credit card is required to start.
Are there per-workflow-run charges?
No. DAVE charges a flat monthly fee by seat count. There are no per-run, per-instance, or per-task charges.
Are there storage quotas?
No. There are no storage quotas on any plan.
Does DAVE mark up AI usage?
No. DAVE never proxies or marks up AI usage. You bring your own API keys for each AI provider and pay your provider directly. DAVE's monthly fee covers the platform only.
What counts as a seat?
A seat is a user account in your DAVE workspace. Every person who logs in to DAVE needs a seat. Users who only consume the outputs of AI workflows but never log in do not need a seat.
Can I have multiple roles on one seat?
Yes. A single user can hold multiple roles simultaneously. For example, one person can hold both the Create role (to build agents) and the Curate role (to build workflows) on a single seat. Multiple roles do not require multiple seats.
What happens after the 30-day trial?
After the trial period, you select a paid plan to continue using DAVE. Billing is managed at Admin, then Billing in the sidebar (visible to Admin role users only).
Is there an annual billing option?
Annual billing options are not detailed in the current help documentation. Contact the DAVE team for current billing frequency options.
What is the overage rate for teams above 25 seats?
$10 per additional seat per month, flat. There is no volume discount and no step-up tier above Business. The formula is: monthly cost = $250 + ((seats - 25) x $10).
Can I downgrade from Business to Team if my team shrinks?
Plan changes are managed at Admin, then Billing. The specific mechanics of plan changes and prorations are not detailed in the current help documentation. Contact the DAVE team for details.
